IN COUPIST DEVIL'S WEB: Most Opposition leaders, so it seems, have CONVINCED themselves that the PAAPI and his party are the only ones to defeat FFF. So, they are sh*t scared to confront Rabuka and his PAST

POLITICAL DEVILRY: A VOTE FOR NFP AND BIMAN PRASAD IS A VOTE FOR SITIVENI RABUKA TO BECOME PRIME MINISTER. PRASAD HAS SIGNED A GIRMIT WITH THE PAAPI FROM 1987

HISTORY WAITING TO BE REPEATED: PAAPI could liu muri PRASAD

In May 1992, Fiji went to the polls under the racist and feudalistic 1990 Constitution to elect to the House of Representatives 70 members, of whom 37 were i-Taukei, 27 Indo-Fijians, and 10 Others.  Of the 37 i-Taukei seats, 32 were to be elected from the rural constituencies and the remaining 5 from urban ones.
*However, the GCC sanctioned and Sitiveni Rabuka led Soqosoqo ni Vakavulewa ni Taukei (SVT or Fijian Political Party) faced questions from urban i-Taukeis.
*Why should the province of Ba, with more than 55,000 i-Taukeis, have the same number of seats, three, as Lau, with a population of 14,000? Why should Rewa, with 48,000 i-Taukeis, get two seats while Cakaudrove, with 29,000, got three? Why should urban i-Taukeis, who made up more than one-third of the i-Taukei population, have only five seats? Reason: Coupist Rabuka wanted to reduce the voting strength of the urban i-Taukei whose support, he claimed, for the Bavadra led FLP had contributed to its 1987 triumph.
*In 1992, Ratu Mara backed Josevata Kamikamica over Rabuka as his preferred successor. NFP won 14 seats. FLP won 13. In the race to become Prime Minister, Reddy gave his 14 votes to Kamikamica, telling Rabuka's emissaries that he did not and could not TRUST Rabuka.
*But Chaudhry gave his votes to Rabuka after obtaining assurances from him that he (Rabuka) would redress a list of demands from FLP. But once Rabuka became Prime Minister, Rabuka went back to his old ways, changing his mind or denying the substance of the deals he had made with FLP in exchange for the 13 votes.
*He declined to review VAT and dismissed any hurry to review the much-reviled 1990 Constitution.
*After his election, he said he wanted a constitution 'that's totally Fijian oriented' and sympathized with the Fijian Nationalist Party's wish to repatriate the Indo-Fijians to India.
In 2022, Chaudhry is keeping quiet, targetting only the FFP votes.

2 JUNE 1992, RABUKA TO FLP
Mrs Jokapeci Koroi President Fiji Labour Party Suva
'Dear Mrs Koroi, I acknowledge the proposals outlined in your letter (2 June 1992) delivered this morning. I have considered your proposals favourably and agree to take action on all the issues, namely the constitution, VAT, labour reforms and land tenure on the basis suggested in your letter. I agree to hold discussions on the above issue in order to finalise the machinery to progress the matter further.'
Yours Faithfully
S. L. Rabuka (Major) General President

FEASTING WITH THE DEVIL: In 1992, Chaudhry gave FLP votes for Rabuka to become Prime Minister. Despite being betrayed, he is back, supping with the Political Devil SITIVENI RABUKA

CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTH, MASI, DHOTI:
*When Fiji Labour Party leader MAHENDRA CHAUDHRY declared he was standing as a candidate in the 2022 election, we thought he might EXPOSE the political treachery and the track record of the PAAPI since 1987.
*After all, Chaudhry was part of the FLP-NFP team that was deposed by SITIVENI RABUKA in the racially motivated COUPS.
*In 1999, his Peoples Coalition defeated the Rabuka-Reddy Coalition, and Chaudhry became the first Prime Minister of Indo-Fijian origin
*We thought when the 'Sole Spokesman - Fiji's Hindu's Jinnah' publicly shouted from the Mandir (Temple) Rooftop that he (BIMAN PRASAD) has signed a girmit with PAAPI, for Paapi to become the PAP-NFP's Prime Minister, Chaudhry will be quick to remind the VOTERS, and indirectly to Prasad and the NFP supporters, that SITIVENI Rabuka has a HISTORY
of betrayal and treachery.
*Evidence: 1992 Election, when FLP and Chaudhry gave Rabuka their votes for him to become Prime Minister but in return for him to review the racist 1990 Constitution, repeal Labour law decrees, abolish VAT and attend to the contentious ALTA.

2 June 1992 (CONFIDENTIAL)
Major General Sitiveni Rabuka (Hand Delivered)

Dear Major General Sitiveni Rabuka

The Fiji Labour Party has agreed to lend support to you for the position of Prime Minister on the basis that our party would be given firm assurance on the following issues in writing:

A. CONSTITUTION

The new government would immediately initiate a process of review and change of the 1990 Constitution by a jointly appointed team that would take into regard the objections that have been expressed by the Fiji Labour Party on behalf of the Indian community, urban Fijians and Western Fijians, and take immediate measures to address such objections. Such a process to be initiated as soon as parliament convenes.

B. LABOUR REFORM DECREES

That the new government would urgently seek to have the labour decrees revoked to take account of the objections by the trade union movement in Fiji.

C: VAT (value-added tax)

That the new government would urgently scrap VAT as a matter of priority.

D: LAND

That the new government would convene a machinery to facilitate discussions on the issue of land, particularly relating to the extension of ALTA [Agricultural Landlord and Tenant Act] That as soon as the parliament convenes, such a machinery be deliberated upon. The Fiji Labour Party is awaiting your urgent and serious consideration of our request. Yours Sincerely Jokapeci Koroi (Mrs) (President)

SITIVENI Rabuka HAD replied immediately

Mrs Jokapeci Koroi President Fiji Labour Party Suva.

Dear Mrs Koroi,

I acknowledge the proposals outlined in your letter (2 June 1992) delivered this morning.

I have considered your proposals favourably and agree to take action on all the issues, namely the constitution, VAT, labour reforms and land tenure on the basis suggested in your letter. I agree to hold discussions on the above issue in order to finalise the machinery to progress the matter further.

Yours Faithfully
S. L. Rabuka (Major) General President

AGAIN, FLP and MAHENDRA CHAUDHRY are not reminding the VOTERS about the 1999 election, when the Peoples' Coalition defeated SVT-NFP

On the eve of the polling, the Fiji Labour Party had laid bare the Rabuka government's track record of scandals:

(1) NBF - which will cost the taxpayers around $500million;
(2) CDF - $69million;
(3) Cupit Farm - $7million;
(4) PAFCO - $5million;
(5) Public Trustees - $3million;
(6) Rabi Trust Fund - $8.25million

The FLP told the VOTERS: "SVT will not fulfil promise"

The country has been brought to the brink of destruction by the Rabuka Government, says Fiji Labour Party president Jokapeci Koroi.

"While the Prime Minister [Rabuka] and his merry men and women have been enjoying themselves the poor people became poorer and they did not bother," Ms Koroi said while addressing supporters at the last Fiji Labour Party rally in Suva.

"The Rabuka government has not bothered to look after you, the ordinary people. You may again ask why - like many of my Fijian brothers and sisters who probably voted for the SVT in the 1992 and the 1994 elections - has the Rabuka government not delivered the goods that it promised you in 1992 and 1994."

Koroi told the voters that since 1992 when Rabuka first took over our public debt has gone from $700million to $1.5billion as it stands today - that is an increase of around $700million in the last seven years.

Our public debt in the last seven years, Ms Koroi said has increased an average of $100million each year.

'Can you believe that? Well I certainly can as these are from official government statistics,' she said. Last year, the debt service fee paid by the taxpayers was $118million.

This works out at $323,000 a day or
$13,500 an hour, 224 a minute or $3.74 a second.

"For every breath we take we are paying $3.74 - thanks to the Rabuka government's abysmal management of our public finances."

"Our social indicators show that almost:
* 40 percent of our people live below the poverty line;
* 25 per cent of our youths are unemployed and;
* crime has increased by 130 per cent in the last five years."

Ms Koroi said that with the SVT Government's track record, they would not fulfil what they had promised. She said that Peoples Coalition was ready to form a government for the people. Ms Koroi said the Peoples Coalition now had the support from all races and they were confident they would have the number to form a new Government after the general election.

Fijileaks: As history records, Peoples Coalition did oust Rabuka from power in 1999 but a year later the Peoples Coalition government was overthrown by the George Speight putsch. The Chaudhry government was held hostage for 56 days, prompting Ratu Mara to accuse Rabuka of having a hand in the putsch. Chaudhry is back, caking up Rabuka. Is he hedging his bets for a PAP win in 2022?
