*While sentencing JASVIN Kumar, Magistrate Puamau says she considered suspending the sentence but this is a prevalent crime and more learned minds than hers can make clear that methamphetamine abuse is a scourge that all branches of government must unify against. *Puamau says the judiciary must do its part on behalf of the people of Fiji to stop and stem the tide.
*She says deterrence and protection of the community are the primary considerations of sentencing crimes like this.

*On the 22nd of December last year at about 10.15pm, while manning the Delainavesi road block site, a police officer was informed that a vehicle was transporting drugs.
