CLOSED BOOK: GANESHGATE PLOT at the Solomon Islands National University THICKENS as Fijileaks draws BLANK in its hunt for PRINT TECHNOLOGY in Suva that 'printed' and delivered policy books to SINU

Our investigation supports some of the allegations, especially our search for 'Print Technology' Lot 8 Barrett Place, Laucala Bay Rd, Suva, which turns out to be a residential property with rooms for rent to USP students. Our research also reveal that House Number 8 was built by Babu Singh, the former bodyguard to Prime Minister Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara. Singh, a deeply religious, upright, and loyal policeman, and who had spent his entire career protecting Ratu Mara, sold the house some years ago. We also could not find any printing company called Print Technology in Suva. Neither Ganesh Chand nor Devendra Pahalad (who billed SINU $17,500 for 'printing' 8000 "books") could be reached for comment. When we dialled the two mobile numbers (+679 8046465 and +6799910047) listed on the 'Print Technology' Invoice below, all we could hear was some female speaking in a foriegn tongue (sounded Middle Eastern). In other words, we couldn't understand what she was saying to us on the two numbers
Fijileaks: Within minutes of the publication of our story, Devendra Pahalad made contact with us and claimed that he operates and designs publication materials from his top flat at 8 Barrett Place, and prints from his printing press at Laucala Beach Estate. He also claimed that he rents out the bottom flat to Solomon Island students studying at USP in Suva. He couldn't explain why Print Technology is not listed on the Internet but insisted that his business was a legitimate concern, in partnership with another individual. We do notice that the invoice for $17,500 from Print Technology has TIN: 3061842-0-2. He claimed that he knew Ganesh Chand when he (Pahalad) was working for Oceania Printers Ltd, publishers of FNU publications. He also claimed he got the SINU publishing contract after his lowest tender bid was accepted by SINU and Ganesh Chand. The Lecturers Association of Solomon Islands National University (LASINU) and the Solomon Islands National Univeristy General Staff Association (SINUGSA) have claimed in their raft of allegations that no proper tender was put out for the job

A lengthy Fijileaks investigation relating to the raft of allegations against him in Solomon Islands raise some very disturbing questions. Since our series of expose on Ganesh Chand's shenanigans at the Fiji National University that saw him dragged before the Fiji High Court, he has cut all contact with us when, for FORTY years, he was the most eager and reliable informant of our founding Editor-in-Chief. In November 2018 Chand was discharged of abuse of office charges after FICAC prosecutors failed to produce their main witness. A nolle prosequi was filed by FICAC’s senior prosecutor, Rashmi Aslam, who stated that the key witness in the case could not be located as he was overseas. Chand's trial was scheduled to begin from December 3 to 14. Aslam said FICAC was not concluding the matter, however, when the witness becomes available, they would then continue with the proceedings. It was alleged that between November 14, 2012, and July 4, 2013, while being employed as the Vice-Chancellor of FNU, Chand approved payments amounting to $213,905.05 for overseas medical treatment for chairman of the FNU, Filipe Bole, from the university’s funds. Regarding Solomon Islands allegations, Chand, who is currently in Fiji, told The Fiji Times reporter Anish Chand last month that the allegations made against him are 'preposterous, malicious and defamatory'. He said there was no truth to any of the allegations: "None whatsoever." Typically, The Fiji Times ran with his denial story, and the local press are too arrogant to confront him with our evidence. The Fiji press behaved in the same manner, and abhorrently, to our FNU expose until he fronted the Fiji High Court.
